OK, I know your mouth has NOT stopped watering and you are fainting and you have GOT to have this.  And you know what?  YOU ARE RIGHT!!!!  

Well, so did I.  Last Sunday.  I had everything except Creole Seasoning.  I wanted this so bad I could taste it--yeah, pun intended--so I had to make my own Creole seasoning because around here "running to the store" means a 20-mile trip.

Creole Contessa's Greek Shrimp Alfredo

Like the lighting in my photo of the spice blend?  Here's what I used:

Creole Seasoning Blend

  • 2 tbs onion powder
  • 2 tbs garlic powder
  • 2 tbs oregano
  • 2 tbs basil
  • 1 1/2 tbs thyme
  • 1 tbs black pepper
  • 1 tbs white pepper
  • 2 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 3 tbs regular paprika
  • 2 tbs smokey paprika
  • 3 tbs kosher salt

Mix all ingredients together and store in an air-tight container.

This would also be an EXCELLENT rub for BBQ ribs.

Makes about 1 cup
